After seeing an advertisement for franchising opportunities in the Dallas Morning News, Frank Smith immediately wanted to become a part of the Dickey's team because of his love for authentic, slow-smoked barbecue. Frank Smith met with Roland Dickey, Sr. and T.D. Dickey, sons to Dickey's Barbecue Pit founder Travis Dickey, to learn more about the opportunity and never looked back.
After opening multiple Dickey's locations with his son and putting his heart and soul into the business, he sold his locations to his son Dale Smith in 2008. Since then, Dale has become the sole owner of six Dickey's location across north Texas and is known and respected by current owners as one of the Dickey's Barbecue Pit originals.
