American’s Hometown Burger Joint Announces Changes to Its Franchise Development and Procurement Departments

January 27, 2017 // Franchising.com // CHESHIRE, CT – Wayback Burgers, America’s hometown burger joint, serving delicious, fresh burgers made from 100-percent ground beef, hand-dipped milkshakes and more, today announced key changes to its corporate team to help support its rapid growth and expansion within new and existing markets.

Specifically, Wayback Burgers has added and promoted new team members within its franchise development and procurement departments, including the following:

Scott Milas has been promoted to Vice President of Franchise Development. Milas, who has over 40 years of experience in the food and restaurant industry, supervises the domestic sales team at Wayback Burgers. In this role, he is tasked with evaluating the department’s sales process, managing new prospects through the recruitment phase, budgeting for lead and recruitment generation, attending and managing franchise trade shows, and ensuring that best practices are adhered to. Milas initially joined Wayback Burgers in 2012 as a Field Trainer and Store Coordinator before transitioning to the franchise development team. He spent four years as Director of Franchise Development prior to being promoted to Vice President in 2016.

Daniel DeTuccio has been hired as Director of Franchise Development. In this role, DeTuccio will manage franchisee accounts throughout the sales process, including facilitating financing initiatives for new prospects and assisting with franchise development communications and lead generation, among various other tasks. Prior to joining the Wayback Burgers team, DeTuccio spent a vast majority of his professional career in marketing at companies including Weathervane, TJX and his own boutique advertising firm before switching his career focus to sales, working for Valpak as its director of digital development.

Jeff Mulliken has been hired as Vice President of Procurement. Bringing over 45 years of experience in the foodservice and hospitality industries, Mulliken spent a decade in restaurant management before moving into corporate staff positions focusing on food product specification and procurement as well as recipe and menu development. He has worked for regional and national multi-unit operations including Marriott and Hyatt Hotels, and served on the startup management team for Avendra LLC. Mulliken’s blend of culinary skill, procurement strategy and ability to integrate food and menu marketing strategies lend a unique advantage to his new role in the fast-paced, competitive fast-casual segment. At Wayback Burgers, Mulliken is responsible for sourcing, contracting and distributing food and consumable or disposable products. Additional responsibilities include continuously improving upon existing menu products, developing new products to support limited time offers and new menu items, and ensuring product adherence to Wayback Burgers’ specifications and standards.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Mulliken and Daniel DeTuccio to our team, as well as the promotion of Scott Milas,” said John Eucalitto, president, Wayback Burgers. “These individuals are seasoned veterans in their respective fields, and we believe that they will enhance our team through proven leadership and extensive knowledge of their department areas. We are confident that each of these individuals will have a positive impact on the company as we continue to focus on the expansion of Wayback Burgers in both new and existing markets in the United States and abroad.”

Wayback Burgers offers delicious, cooked-to-order burgers, available as a single, classic double, triple and triple triple (nine) patty, and rich, thick milkshakes made the old-fashioned way by hand, using only fresh milk and hand-dipped ice cream, served in an environment that hearkens back to a simpler place and time – when “customer service” meant something and everyone felt the warmth of the community. Going “way” beyond the burger, Wayback Burgers offers crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, fresh salads and delicious sides, including fries, onion rings and House-Made Chips.
