Scooter’s Coffee Adds Sixth Location to Overland Park

New Store to Celebrate with $1 Medium Drinks Friday, February 3

January 31, 2017 // Franchising.com // Overland Park, KS – Scooter’s Coffee, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise that is on track for another record-breaking year of growth, will increase its Kansas presence with the company’s latest Grand Opening at 127th & Pflumm (12551 Pflumm Road) on Friday, February 3. To celebrate the opening, the new location will offer $1 medium drinks all day (excludes Vertigo Smoothies).

“We’re thrilled to see our brand continue to grow in Kansas,” stated Rob Streett, President and Chief Operating Officer of Scooter’s Coffee. “The Overland Park community has always welcomed us with open arms, and they share our friendly, Midwestern values and appreciation for a good cup of coffee served with a smile.”

On Grand Opening Day, customers can also expect to receive several fun giveaways; beginning at 9 a.m., the first 100 customers will receive a free t-shirt or coffee mug. For the afternoon crowd, starting at 2 p.m., the first 100 customers will receive a $5 gift card.

In celebration of this new store opening, the location will also be treating customers to Free Food Fridays each Friday from February 10 through March 3, where customers can enjoy a complimentary food item with the purchase of any drink (while supplies last).

This location is owned by Freedom Enterprises. “We got involved with Scooter's because I loved the atmosphere of a coffeehouse and wanted to have a place where people could gather for a great cup of coffee, where we could brighten their day and where we could make an impact in our community,” said Tracy Bouwens, one of the four Freedom owners. “When we met the founders of Scooter's, Don & Linda Eckles, we knew immediately that this company was a fit for us.”

Scooter’s Coffee is quickly approaching 200 locations in 15 states. It opened 33 new locations in 2016 and plans similar expansion in 2017. The company is in the midst of a robust grand opening pipeline. It recently opened its first location in Phoenix, Arizona, added a second location to the Atlanta, Georgia, metro area and also opened its second of many locations in the state of Florida. Other expanding markets include Iowa, Kansas, Texas and Missouri.

Scooter’s Coffee, which is based in Omaha, Nebraska, handcrafts its pastries and roasts its own shade-grown coffee, sourced through the Arbor Day Foundation. In 2016, the company also added depth to its product profile, releasing a new line of Organic Hot and Iced Teas earlier this summer. In addition to its nearly-100% gluten-free beverage menu, Scooter's Coffee recently added gluten-free brownies to its extensive menu.
