ZIPS Dry Cleaners Names Kathleen Razmus Plant Performance and Quality Specialist

March 13, 2017 // Franchising.com // GREENBELT, Md. - Dry cleaning industry veteran Kathleen Razmus has been appointed as a Plant Performance and Quality Specialist for ZIPS Dry Cleaners, an aggressively expanding dry cleaning franchise concept with nearly 50 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Razmus brings over 30 years of industry experience to the company. Her dry cleaning career began shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech when she purchased Regency Drycleaning Services in Ellicott City, MD. She co-owned and operated Regency for 25 years before selling the business to Glyndon Lord Baltimore Cleaners (GLB) in 2011. After the sale, Kathleen served as the Production Manager at GLB Cleaners.

Although Razmus is well-versed in all aspects of dry cleaning plant operation and management, her particular area of expertise is in “back of the house” or production operations. While at Regency and GLB, she developed and implemented systems for monitoring, tracking and optimizing product quality, operator productivity, supply inventory and equipment maintenance.

“Kathleen will make a strong addition to the ZIPS team. Her extensive background in the dry cleaning industry makes her uniquely qualified to join our growing company,” said ZIPS CEO Reid Bechtle. “Her passion for what she does will no doubt contribute to the continued success of ZIPS.”

In her new role, Razmus will help train new franchisees as well as their managers to ensure that ZIPS’s commitment to quality is maintained throughout the entire franchise system. Kathleen will also offer operational support to existing franchisees.
