PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans Announces Aggressive International Development Plans

Retail Coffeehouse Franchise Kicks Off International Development with Over 100 Locations to Open in Five Years

New Orleans, LA. – PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, a New Orleans-based coffeehouse that demonstrates better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffee-making matter, is gearing up for international expansion as it looks to bring 100 franchise locations to Malaysia, Kuwait, and Vietnam in the next five years.

The brand has hit the ground running with signed agreements to bring more than 20 locations to Kuwait, 50 to Vietnam, and a letter of intent for an additional 30 locations in Malaysia. Targets for expansion include Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Kuala Lumpur, and Petaling Gaya Malaysia; and Kuwait City and Al Jahara, Kuwait. PJ’s Coffee is making its mark in the $100 billion a year coffee industry, anticipating nearly 100 international locations in the next five years. The first location under this development will be spearheaded by Master Franchisee Rick Yvanovich, with the newest Vietnam PJ’s Coffee scheduled to open in January 2018.

“PJ’s Coffee has a business model that is positioned for rapid international growth,” said Yvanovich. “With Vietnam’s powerful and exciting culture driven by vivacious energy much like New Orleans, I’m confident the brand will flourish throughout the southeast of Asia.”

PJ’s Coffee serves a wide variety of iced, frozen, hot, cold brew, and nitro-infused coffees using only the top one percent of Arabica beans, as well as organic tea and fresh breakfast pastries. The company partners from farms in all parts of the world to identify and source the highest quality coffee, and has even adopted the El Terrerito Farm in Honduras. PJ's famous iced coffees are brewed daily using a special cold-drip process that protects the flavor and strength of the beans, while producing a coffee that is two thirds less acidic - a process pioneered by PJ’s Coffee founder, Phyllis Jordan.

“With extensive international flavor profiles, we are confident the brand is poised for continued worldwide growth,” said Peter Boylan, President of Ballard brands and PJ’s Coffee. “We are thrilled to grow PJ’s Coffee with such a phenomenal Master Franchise like Rick as we continue to bring a superior product and customer experience to communities across the globe.”

Following initial success with over 90 locations open and operating domestically, PJ’s Coffee is seeking to partner with entrepreneurs to continue its growth both nationally and internationally. Perspective franchisees can expect an investment between $166,400 and $440,000 for traditional and non-traditional units. The operating model and menu is adaptable to any environment with different options including kiosks and free-standing locations with a drive-thru, ranging from a few hundred square feet up to 2200 square feet. PJ’s Coffee offers a high-touch franchise model with strategic corporate support.
