Neighborly Announces Top Performers At Annual Conference

October 30, 2018 // Franchising.com // Neighborly, one of the world’s largest parent companies of home service brands, recently held its annual conference in Dallas, TX where franchisees nominated and awarded their top performers for significant accomplishments and contributions throughout the year.

Glass Doctor, Aire Serv, Rainbow International, Mr. Rooter Plumbing, Mr. Appliance and Window Genie, all recognized top award winners throughout the U.S. and Canada, including:

Glass Doctor

  • Franchisee of the Year: John & Susan Goldsmith, owner of Glass Doctor of North Vancouver: This award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a franchisee. John and Susan Goldsmith (out of North Vancouver, Canada) first became Glass Doctor franchisees with the opening of their first location in in 2010. Today, the Goldsmiths currently own and operate four locations -- North Vancouver (est. 2010), Sunshine Coast (est. 2014), Langley (est. 2015) and Burnaby (est. 2018). John and Susan attribute a lot of their success to following best practices, utilizing the technology, infrastructure and software provided by the Glass Doctor system and working closely with other franchisees. In addition, the Goldsmiths have had to overcome some incredible geographical “challenges” (given that they are located on the Sunshine Coast, they are locked in by ocean and mountains). Due to this, they typically have to take a 45-minute ferry ride just to make many of their reservations.
  • Rookie of the Year: Stephen & Cyndi Poe, owners of Glass Doctor of Kingman, AZ and Josh & EmilyAnne Thomason, owners of Glass Doctor of Melbourne, FL. This year, Glass Doctor had some really incredible rookies, so much so that there was a tie. This award is to the franchisee who has demonstrated outstanding performance in sales and building their organizations in their first 12 months. Only franchisees in the system less than 18 months are eligible.
  • President’s Choice Award: Ed Sieber, owner of Glass Doctor of Charlotte, NC. The President’s Choice award is one that is not given out every year. It’s a special recognition for the franchisee, or employee, who epitomizes who Glass Doctor is, stands for the brands Code of Values and is a shining example of what every franchisee should strive to achieve.

Aire Serv

  • Franchisee of the Year: Nikki and Lee Downing, owners of Aire Serv of Memphis, TN. The Franchisee of the Year award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an Aire Serv franchisee. The award is presented to the franchisee who has consistently grown through proper training and management of the organization and has had a consistently high level of sales through quality, professional service and implementation of the Aire Serv System.
  • Woman of the Year: Anastasia Stewart, co-owner of Aire Serv of Melbourne, FL. This award is presented to the woman who has had the greatest contribution to the success of the franchise and recognizes the continuous efforts that strengthen and support the success of the franchisee.
  • Rookie of the Year: Gary and Shelley Mertz, owners of Aire Serv of Flower Mound, TX. • Woman of the Year: Stacy Franken, owner of Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Williamsburg, VA. The Woman of the Year award is presented to a female franchise owner who has contributed the most to becoming a successful franchise. The award also recognizes Stacy’s continued efforts to strengthen the Mr. Rooter brand while also supporting her local community.
  • Excellence in Leadership: Scott Hobbs, owner of Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Northwest Florida. This award is given to the franchisee that consistently sets an example for others within the system by conveying vision, participation and positive contribution to the network.

Mr. Appliance

  • Franchisee of the Year: Jeanette and Scott Stewart, owners of Mr. Appliance of Delaware Valley, PA. The Stewart’s have consistently grown their business, shown exemplary customer service and constantly strive to offer support to fellow franchisees to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn from their experiences, along with supporting the local communities they serve.
  • Excellence in Mentoring: Steven and Tammy Johnson, owners of Mr. Appliance of Over the Mountain, AL. This award is presented to the franchisee that stands out by proactively going out of their way to mentor and assist other franchises in the development of their businesses. This franchisee sets an outstanding example of following the system.
  • Rookie of the Year: Quentin Smith, owner of Mr. Appliance of West Augusta, GA. This award is presented to the franchisee that has been in business less than 18 months and demonstrates outstanding performance in sales; is focused on building the organization, and is committed to full execution of the system.

Window Genie

  • Franchisee of the Year: Steve Sarafin, owner of Window Genie of NW New Jersey. This award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a franchisee. Steve joined Window Genie back in 1999 and was one of the brands very first owners. Over the past 19 years, Steve has proven himself as a top performer, so much so, that he is a member of Window Genie's Franchise Advisory Council. Sarafin was born and raised in New Jersey, where he currently runs his 10 truck operation. Steve attributes much of his success to his team of hardworking technicians. Because Steve is one of the most veteran franchise owners in the system, many of the newer owners lean on him for guidance and advice.
