Tucson Woman Receives National Caregiver Honor For Exceptional Service

BrightStar Care Names Queen-Ann Canty the 2018 Caregiver of the Year

October 30, 2018 // Franchising.com // GURNEE, IL - Helping her clients live life to the fullest, Queen-Ann Canty exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond your job description. Queen-Ann Canty, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with BrightStar Care of Tucson / Sierra Vista, one of the nation's leading private duty home care and medical staffing franchises, has shown deep compassion for each and every one of her clients by being attentive to their everyday needs.

Each year BrightStar Care recognizes their caregivers for putting forth unparalleled empathy and patience by honoring one employee with the Caregiver of the Year award. This award honors the hard work, person-centered care and dedication of an exceptional caregiver. Each year, families and clients nominate their BrightStar Care caregiver by submitting a testimonial letter that outlines the incomparable care they provide to them and their family.

Queen-Ann's devotion to caring for her clients was recognized earlier this month by BrightStar Care. She was first selected as the West Regional finalist and was invited to join the three other finalists in Washington D.C. at the brand's annual franchisee conference, where BrightStar Care CEO and founder, Shelly Sun presented the 2018 Caregiver of the Year award to Queen-Ann. She received a heartfelt nomination from her past client’s husband and now current client, Cecil Nist.

Nist, a retired Army officer, and his late wife, Pat, referred to Queen-Ann as “ROYALTY” in their home because she is so humble as she serves his needs - making note that she is gracious, polite soft-spoken, kind, loving, patient, observant, caring considerate, thoughtful, respectful and hard-working. His heartfelt nomination highlights how important Queen-Ann is to him and his family. “I am forever grateful to her. None of my adult children live near me, so I rely on Queen-Ann to help me. She is a blessing. We could not have made it the past seven years without BrightStar Care and especially Queen-Ann. She is undoubtedly the one who will help me achieve my goal now – to remain home until the time comes to see my Pat again.”

“Queen-Ann’s tender and loving nomination letter is one of the many reasons our clients continue to choose BrightStar Care,” said Shelly Sun, CEO and Founder of BrightStar Care. “We are so proud of the compassion and dedication she brings every single day. She truly makes her client's lives better, and we are honored to recognize Queen-Ann as this year's Caregiver of the Year.”
