Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Bothell Location
November 20, 2018 // Franchising.com // BOTHELL, Wash. - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Bothell on November 14. Franchise owner Dave Burrell held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 14 to Sunday, November 18 to support Northshore Schools Foundation.
The new restaurant, located at 24016 Bothell Everett Hwy., circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Northshore Schools Foundation.
“I grew up in New Jersey and had first hand experience with Jersey Mike’s Subs,” said Burrell. “My family used to get subs from Jersey Mike’s every Friday for dinner. I remember how excited I was to unwrap my sandwich, see the juice all over the paper, and bite into my favorite sandwich. We were frequent visitors to a lot of local Jersey shore stores like Mueller’s Bakery for Kaiser Rolls and Crumb Cake, Vesuvio’s Pizza and Mike’s Subs. All still exist today, nothing has changed with their ingredients.”
Burrell started out in the restaurant business in high school in Florida, working as a bus boy and prep cook. He loved the service aspect of the job, loved helping people. After graduation, he enlisted in the army for three years, then moved to northern California. A life in computers soon found him and after working for five years at a company in Santa Clara, he was offered a job at Microsoft. Over 22 years at Microsoft, Burrell handled everything from Support to Software Programming. He said, “The whole time since that restaurant in Florida, I had it in the back of my mind that one day I’d own my own restaurant. Microsoft was great for me, helped me raise the money necessary for my dream to come true.”
He went on to say, “Bothell has a wonderful small-town feel, similar to Point Pleasant, New Jersey. I know this is the right place to start my own Jersey Mike’s Subs store. The community has been very receptive and friendly, and I look forward to many years serving them.”
