Steve Larsen of Sioux Falls Named Growth Coach of the Year

The award was presented at the company’s conference in Las Vegas on February 28, 2019. The Growth Coach has more than 100 franchisees around the world.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (PRWEB) April 01, 2019 - The Growth Coach, the international business and sales coaching franchise, is pleased to announce that Steve Larsen, The Growth Coach of Sioux Falls, has been named the Domestic Coach of the Year. The award was presented at the company’s conference in Las Vegas on February 28, 2019. The Growth Coach has more than 100 franchisees around the world.

“Steve has such a passion for helping others be successful, including his clients, his team, other Growth Coaches and the franchise overall. He believes so strongly in people that, after they work with Steve, they believe it too,” The Growth Coach President Lisa Hudson said. “I personally appreciate his leadership, both within the franchise and with the other coaches in the system. He is great at giving feedback and his input and contributions over the last decade have made the franchise stronger. The coaches look up to Steve and we could not be more pleased to have him as part of our team.”

Larsen just celebrated his 10th anniversary as The Growth Coach of Sioux Falls and, over the last couple of years, he expanded his company to four total coaches. Prior to The Growth Coach, he specialized in marketing and advertising. He said one of the big differences between The Growth Coach and other companies is that Growth Coaches are just that – coaches, not consultants.

“The Growth Coach’s programs help people take a step back, evaluate their businesses, create a plan for moving forward and stay accountable by working with a coach. It’s not rocket science, but it can be challenging for business owners and company leaders to do and having a coach makes all the difference,” Larsen said. “The power of The Growth Coach is how we connect with people – we have to ‘seek first to understand and then seek to be understood.’ We have to understand our clients, where they are coming from, where they are today, where they want to be and the challenges they are facing so we can work together to create a roadmap. I’ve sometimes been called Mr. 2 Percent. When people are ready to make a change, they want their whole lives to change in one day, but massive change takes time and, especially in a business, you have to focus on changing just two percent at a time and that’s how you make a sustainable difference.”

Over the last 10 years, Larsen and his team have served more than 400 clients, ranging from small business owners to large company managers, including Dr. Nathan Unruh, the owner of Envive Chiropractic, Cofounder at SIDECAR and CEO at FiveFour.

“The Growth Coach process creates great value and, if you put the time in and make a commitment to it, your business will have no choice but to grow. I think coaching in any area of our lives is critical, especially in business. I have talked to other business owners all the time who say, ‘I know what to do,’ but I’ve learned really quick, by working with Steve and going through The Growth Coach process, that if I have to be the smartest guy in the room, I better change rooms. The Growth Coach process gave me the opportunity to say, if you aren’t getting other opinions and you’re trying to be the smartest guys in the room, you are the limiting factor in your business,” Unruh said.

In addition the work he’s doing in Sioux Falls, Hudson said Larsen has become an inspiration for coaches around the world because of his forward thinking when it comes to giving back to The Growth Coach system and supporting other Growth Coaches. Larsen said a big part of that is making sure he shares any programs or services he builds with the whole Growth Coach community.

“Anytime I develop collateral or have something that could benefit others in the system, I always share it with the other franchisees. I truly believe, if you have something positive that could help other people, whether it’s the franchisees or their clients or people in your community, you have the ethical duty to share it. I want to help improve the lives of as many people as possible and that starts with working together,” Larsen said.

Dan Murphy, Co-Founder of The Growth Coach, was very excited about Larsen’s recognition and said, "I have been blessed to know Steve for more than a decade and have enjoyed seeing, up close, his personal growth, resiliency and business success. While he has consistently been a highly-effective and caring coach to his many clients over these many years, he has also kept a healthy life balance and remained very dedicated to his wife and kids, faith and community. In all that he does, Steve has a grateful and generous heart of service and I am particularly thankful for his giving back so much to our franchise system and his fellow franchise owners with his time, talents, and contributions. As a Go-Giver, he has been a true role model for us all. I am very proud of Steve and his accomplishments and happy for his much deserved recognition.”
