Springfield, IL Gets Its First The Goddard School

Play-based Preschool Now Open in Springfield

April 25, 2019 // Franchising.com // SPRINGFIELD, IL - For the first time, the Springfield, IL community will be home to The Goddard School, nationally acclaimed early childhood education center that provides a play-based learning experience to children ages six weeks to six years old.

Goddard Systems, Inc. (GSI), the franchisor of The Goddard School, recently announced on the location is now open in Springfield. The new School, located at 3411 Hedley Road, is owned by experienced Goddard School franchisee Barbara Burrows, who opened her first Goddard School in Edwardsville, IL in 2009.

“I’m excited to bring the first Goddard School to Springfield,” Barbara said. “I enjoy working with children and thrive on being a part of their daily progress. The first five years of a child’s life are crucial - it’s when they begin to develop a solid foundation for learning.”

At 8,600 square feet, the newly constructed preschool will serve up to 140 children and employ more than 30 faculty members at capacity. Children attending the School will get to learn how to play chess, the basics of sailing and how to grow their own food in the School’s personal greenhouse.

The Goddard School’s play-based F.L.EX.® Learning Program (Fun Learning Experience) is grounded in research on how children learn best: children experience the deepest, most genuine learning when they are having fun. The focus is on building each child’s emotional, academic, social, creative and physical skills to provide a well-rounded experience and ensure each one becomes confident, joyful and fully prepared in school and in life.
