L&L Hawai‘i Appoints Elisia Flores as CEO and Vice-Chair

Flores, who previously served as CFO, succeeds her father, who has led the company since 1976

August 29, 2019 // Franchising.com // Honolulu - L&L Hawai‘i, the leading Hawaii-based restaurant franchise, has appointed Elisia Flores as chief executive officer and vice-chair. Elisia succeeds her father, Eddie Flores, Jr., who founded the iconic brand with Johnson Kam after purchasing the original location in 1976. Eddie Flores will continue to co-chair the company with Kam, stepping away from day-to-day oversight.

As CEO, Elisia Flores will oversee the strategic direction of the L&L franchise, which has nearly 200 locations throughout the U.S. and Japan, including 14 states, ranging from Alaska to North Carolina.

Elisia Flores joined L&L in 2014 as chief financial officer after 8 years in senior finance roles with General Electric. She has managed several major initiatives, including the development and launch of L&L Hawaiian Mixplate, a build-your-own plate lunch experience. The first L&L Hawaiian Mixplate is opening this month in Shelton, Wash., with locations in San Diego and Denver opening later this year.

Elisia Flores serves on the boards of the Diamond Head Theatre, Hawaiian Humane Society, Hawaii Restaurant Association and American Savings Bank, where she is the Audit Committee chair. She also serves on the advisory boards of the Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership, the Kapi‘olani Community College Culinary Arts program and the Family Business Center of Hawaii. She is an author and has developed real estate education courses.

Elisia earned her executive MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Southern California. She is a graduate of Punahou School.
