JINYA Ramen Bar Continues Nationwide Growth with Two Franchise Agreements in Georgia

December 17, 2019 // Franchising.com // BURBANK, Calif. - JINYA Ramen Bar is pleased to announce new franchise signings for restaurants Athens and Buford, Georgia. Both signings are with experienced restaurant operators.

While both Athens and Buford are new markets for the thriving ramen restaurant, they join several existing Georgia locations in Atlanta, Sandy Springs and Alpharetta. The restaurant, known for its broth that simmers for 10 hours, giving each bowl of ramen a savory, sweet, umami flavor, is now expanding in all areas, as the concept has proven successful in a variety of geographic and commercial locations.

Athens is expected to open in the first half of 2020. The Athens location has a lease signed right next to the University of Georgia at 351 E. Broad St, and the Buford location can be found at The Exchange at Gwinnett.

“We are thrilled that restaurateurs with decades of experience have joined JINYA Ramen Bar. They’ve come in to the locations in Atlanta and seen firsthand how customers positively react to the lively atmosphere and authentic, mouthwatering food,” said Tomo Takahashi, founder of JINYA. “JINYA and our newest franchisees anticipate the same passion from guests and business success in Buford and Athens.”

The ramen-centric menus at all three new locations will feature hand-made ramen noodles, 13 signature bowls, five kinds of broth and 25-plus toppings. Favorites include Spicy Chicken Ramen, Tonkotsu Black and Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen. Locals and students alike in Buford and Athens will want to work their way through the menu including tasteful tapas (including the famed JINYA Bun) to enjoy on the side.

JINYA Ramen Bar is built to elevate the guest’s experience and standard for authentic ramen. Guests will be met with a warm and inviting atmosphere that is fused with traditional Japanese culture and modern sensibilities. The new locations will exhibit a sleek and contemporary design complete with wood paneled dining rooms and outdoor patios that provide a spacious amount of seating.

JINYA Ramen Bar was named after the gathering place in a traditional Japanese village, where people would meet with the samurai. That same community gathering spot is what each new franchisee aspires to bring to Athens and Buford.

Behind The Bowl

Raised in Japan by a family of restaurateurs, JINYA Ramen Bar Founder Tomo Takahashi opened his first restaurant in Tokyo in 2000. After launching seven successful restaurants in Japan, he brought his culinary expertise to the United States, opening JINYA Ramen Bar’s first U.S. location in 2010 in Studio City, California. The JINYA family of restaurants now has 38 locations across the U.S. and Canada, and more than 20 under development. In 2019, the restaurant was named one of America’s Top 50 Emerging Restaurant Chains by FSR Magazine.
