City Wide Finds Its Beat at Annual Franchise Convention

Home Office Leadership, Franchisees and Employees Celebrate 17th Annual Convention and Raise More Than $50,000 for Local Nashville Charity, Davis House Child Advocacy Center

April 02, 2020 // Franchising.com // LENEXA, Kan. - City Wide, the nation’s leading management company in the building maintenance industry, hosted its 17th annual franchise convention and awards ceremony at the Hilton Nashville Downtown from February 23-25.

To honor the 2020 convention taking place in America’s beloved “Music City,” the theme for this year was “Rhythm of the Future.” It is a reflection of City Wide continuing to top the charts within its industry by earning recognition from key players such as Entrepreneur Magazine and Inc. 5000 for the impressive growth trajectory the brand has sustained for nearly 60 years. City Wide already kicked of this year with the opening of four new locations.

In Nashville, City Wide leadership unveiled a well-received concept for a new company vision statement of being “The First Choice.” The concept reinforces City Wide as the first choice not only for clients, but also employees, franchise owners, independent contractors and vendor partners. Following the announcement of the implementation of new client management technology at last year’s annual convention, the brand saw an increase in the client base of more than 20 percent in 2019. Additional updates around the brand were made, such as the upcoming completion of the new home office building and hiring a new Chief Operating Officer.

“It is always great to have the entire City Wide team come together from across the country for a few days to reconnect, share our learnings from the past year and talk about what’s next for the company” said Jeff Oddo, president of City Wide. “I’ve been doing this a long time, but after every convention I am left reinvigorated and inspired with the level of innovation our franchisees have when it comes to finding new ways to help our clients. This type of attentiveness to our clients’ needs has been critical to the success and growth we’ve had. We’re excited for what is on the horizon and continuing to be the first choice for our franchise owners, employees, independent contractors, clients and vendor partners.”

Living up to City Wide’s philosophy of creating a “ripple” effect in all the communities it serves, the brand partnered with local nonprofit Davis House for a charitable giveback. Just over $50,000 was raised in one night by franchisees, their employees, sponsors and home office employees. All money raised is going to support Davis House Child Advocacy Center in its efforts to provide safe spaces for women and children who are victims of abuse.

The highly anticipated awards banquet wrapped up the annual convention by giving special recognition to franchisees and their team members who performed exceptionally in sales, revenue generation, performance and other operations metrics.

Notable honorees from the 2020 convention include:

  • Platinum Markets - Cincinnati, Illinois, Indianapolis, Memphis, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Wichita
