Office Evolution Opens Fourth Florida Location, Second in Jacksonville Market

Coworking franchisor continues explosive growth amid COVID-19 pandemic

June 11, 2020 // Franchising.com // Louisville, Colo. - Office Evolution, the largest and fastest-growing coworking franchisor in the U.S., continues its expansion in Florida by opening its second Jacksonville business center in the Bartram area. The expansion comes in response to a growing demand for shared workspaces with easy access to suburb-dwelling professionals’ homes. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the brand’s strong model, suburban network, and ability to accommodate shifting work habits, is fueling Office Evolution’s growth in 2020.

Located at 12574 Flagler Center Blvd., Suite 101, the 10,262 square-foot center is owned and operated by Michael and Kelly Wielgus. This location is strategically placed in south Jacksonville, which is experiencing very strong growth and is easily accessible from I-95, 9B and Highway US 1. The flexible workspace will service businesses and independent workers in south Duval and northern St. Johns Counties. This location offers 40 private offices (both individual and team spaces) and 3 conference rooms, as well as a large coworking lounge for drop-in workers. This is the second of five locations that the Wielgus’ plan to open in the area. “Our first Office Evolution location has seen fantastic success in Jacksonville, so we immediately knew the demand was there and this location would be no different,” said Michael. The couple’s first location is located on Gate Parkway near the St. John’s Town Center.

As businesses across the U.S. begin to shift their operations to the suburbs away from the density and commuting challenges of urban centers, Office Evolution’s existing suburban footprint provides an immediate solution to minimize business downtime during the shutdown.

No stranger to developing and managing a successful business, Michael built a student loan marketing firm from the ground up. While searching for additional business ventures, Michael and Kelly wanted a business they were passionate about, but also one that would strengthen the Jacksonville community. “Office Evolution was an easy choice, not only was it in a high-growth industry, but it was serving the local business community and helping professionals to grow their businesses and reach their dreams,” said Michael. “We wanted to work with entrepreneurs and become more involved in the local community and opening our Office Evolution locations allows us to do just that.”

“We believe in the Office Evolution concept and are incredibly proud to bring this brand to the Jacksonville area,” stated Michael. “No matter where you are as a business, whether you are a solopreneur or a medium to large corporation, we have solutions that can service you and provide for flexibility. Office Evolution is dedicated to helping all businesses and independent employers not only reach their goals, but to exceed their own expectations, and that is something we are very excited to play a part in.”

Office Evolution’s suburban network of 70 business centers allow employees to work closer to home, a benefit that many workers will be seeking after working remotely for the past several months due to Covid-19. Additionally, many businesses are looking to the suburbs for affordable workspace as they search for ways to get out of expensive real estate deals and move to a hub and spoke model. Office Evolution’s centers also provide first and second floor entry at each location, making for a virtually touch-less experience, and the availability of private workspaces allow workers to easily abide by social distancing guidelines. As demand grows for safe and professional suburban workspace, Office Evolution is perfectly positioned for growth.

“Our franchisees play a key role in serving our members to the best of our abilities,” Office Evolution COO and Global Workspace Association Board Member William Edmundson said. “Michael and Kelly are passionate about the Jacksonville community and we know that their centers will be a great asset in helping Jacksonville small business owners achieve and surpass their goals.”
