Pancheros Mexican Grill Opens New Location in Marion

Fast-Casual Mexican Chain Brings Burritos Better Built to Marion

August 10, 2020 // // MARION, Iowa - Pancheros Mexican Grill has opened the doors to its newest restaurant in Marion at 6095 Carlson Way.

Over the years, Pancheros has earned a loyal following for redefining the standards of a burrito. Pancheros has fresh-pressed tortillas and uses a unique spatula to tear down the walls that once stood between the meat, rice, beans and salsas, yielding burritos that are better built. In addition to burritos, the fast-casual restaurant serves burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas, and salads. It has also earned popularity for its chips and queso and unique limited-time offerings.

“This month marks Pancheros’ 28th anniversary, and as a brand and as a team, it’s extremely humbling to have gained such a strong following from our roots that we’re still expanding within our home market nearly three decades after we began,” said Rodney Anderson, founder and CEO of Pancheros Mexican Grill. “The new Marion location is a reflection of our success in the Cedar Rapids market, and we look forward to becoming a staple in Marion’s restaurant scene.”

To celebrate the restaurant opening in Marion, Pancheros is offering a dollar burrito promotion. The promotion will run from Aug. 11 to 25. In order to redeem the promotion, guests must first download the Pancheros app by Aug. 11 or visit the Marion Facebook page on Aug. 11 for more details on the promotion.

Based in Coralville, the fast-casual Mexican chain has become an Iowa mainstay with more than 27 locations across the state. The newest location will mark the first for Marion, with several nearby locations across Cedar Rapids.

The brand’s pursuit to build the perfect burrito dates back to 1992 when Pancheros founder Rodney Anderson opened the doors to his first restaurant in downtown Iowa City, Iowa.
