Boxing Legend Floyd Mayweather Hosting Mayweather Boxing + Fitness Kansas City Studio Opening In-Person
Fastest Growing Fitness Franchise Achieves Massive Growth Amidst COVID-19 Challenges
November 16, 2020 // Franchising.com // Kansas City, MO - Mayweather Boxing + Fitness - a group fitness and boxing experience created by legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather - announced the Grand Opening of its Kansas City Studio, hosted by brand creator and boxing legend himself, Floyd Mayweather. Grand Opening activities will commence on Saturday, December 5th at 3110 Gillham Plaza Kansas City, MO 64109 with socially distant boxing and fitness classes, giveaways, and interactions with Floyd and Studio members.
“The Mayweather brand has continued to grow and innovate throughout 2020, as we continue to make a name for ourselves as the best fitness concept on the market,” said Mayweather. “While we know it has been a challenging time for the market generally, we adapted quickly and have achieved our strongest growth yet throughout the COVID months. Our Kansas City opening marks another step forward, and our new franchisees are positioned for great success, as we continue to open more Studios later this year and throughout 2021.”
Among the Studio’s three franchisees is Deltricia Howard, Floyd Mayweather’s sister. Growing up in a family passionate about the sport of boxing, Howard has cultivated a personal interest in health and wellness, and currently serves as a flight attendant with United Airlines. Howard’s business background and compassion for serving others inspired her to invest in Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, where she will serve local members on their journeys to achieve fitness.
“My investment in the Mayweather brand combines my passion for the sport and my desire to help others,” said Howard. “The sport of boxing has been an integral part of my identity since a young age, and being surrounded by Floyd’s training, I’ve seen the impact fitness can have on a person. Health and wellness are power, and I look forward to sharing this with the community.”
With a similar, deep-rooted passion for boxing, franchisee DeVaughn Bowlson has trained in the sport since age 14, and grew up learning various training techniques from many professional boxers. Bowlson will apply his motivational, mentorship and training skills to the Mayweather brand.
Franchisee George Forte III brings extensive corporate experience to the team, with over 20 years in the music entertainment industry, serving in prominent roles such as Director of A&R, Artist Management, and Talent Recruitment. Having a significant and personal weight loss journey himself, Forte’s empathy to those seeking and maintaining a health-conscious lifestyle is immeasurable, solidifying his impact at Mayweather Boxing + Fitness.
The Kansas Studio has signed over 500 members prior to opening, and invites all members to join regularly scheduled fitness classes on opening day with Floyd Mayweather as the host.
Mayweather Boxing + Fitness is scheduled to open a large number of new Studios in 2021, with multiple locations being built in California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, among others. COVID-19 has created unique opportunities for the brand, both in real estate and in being able to sign up new members to its Studios; and Mayweather franchisees are taking advantage.
