Critical Care Physician Takes New Approach to the Health and Wellness Industry with MassageLuXe Franchise

November 18, 2020 // Franchising.com // MassageLuXe, a fast-growing luxury spa franchise, has a multi-unit owner making waves in Florida with four locations in Ft. Myers, Lely Resort, Cape Coral, and Lancaster. Along with area development rights for three future locations, the Sunshine State is becoming the place to be for luxury spas.

Eric Jenkins, a full-time critical care physician in the St. Louis area, found himself intrigued by the luxury spa industry when he himself needed a massage after a back injury. “I loved it,” said Eric. “My first thought was, ‘I should invest in something like this!’”

MassageLuXe prides itself on delivering the highest standard of services in the membership-based massage, facial, and waxing industry. Eric’s experience as a physician made a partnership with MassageLuXe an obvious choice. Both Eric and MassageLuXe share the same values and drive to care for others.

“You walk in, and you don’t feel like you’re walking into a typical massage business,” commented Eric. “Every person receives a spa type experience with excellent quality of service at a really competitive price.”

Still a full-time physician in the St. Louis area, what Eric really enjoys about owning MassageLuXe locations is the ability to manage them on the side while still caring for patients 60 hours a week. With four General Managers, one per location, Eric handles more of the high-level work for his spas. “I visit the locations on a quarterly basis, but I try to delegate as much as possible,” said Eric.

The public is more concerned with health and wellness now more than ever, and Eric believes that will lead to franchise growth. “The brand allows for a lot of growth. There are a lot of areas that don’t have spas that would be well-suited for the MassageLuXe business model.”

According to MassageLuXe CEO Mark Otter, the company has a goal to reach 250 locations in the next five years.

Eric’s advice to those looking to invest? “If you are going to get into the massage business, this is the brand to do it. MassageLuXe will give the assistance you need.”
