Jersey Mike’s Opens Aboard Camp Pendleton

March 05, 2021 // Franchising.com // SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Ca. - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened on Wednesday, March 3 aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton at the Pacific Views MCX.

Franchise owners Cathy and Michael Brown are proud to bring a Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant to the base.

“We are pleased to bring our authentic sub sandwiches to the troops and their families stationed here at Camp Pendleton,” said Phil Capozzi, Vice President, Non-Traditional Development, Jersey Mike's Franchise Systems, Inc. “The Browns are excellent operators and will bring Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above service and spirit to the base.”

Jersey Mike’s is available to three branches of the U.S. military: Army, Navy and Marines. In December 2017, Jersey Mike’s opened its first restaurant on a military base at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii. In February 2018, Jersey Mike’s opened aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif. Jersey Mike’s opened aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Norfolk, Va. in February 2019.

The sub shop is staffed by civilians, family members of service members at the installation, and retired military. Store hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Jersey Mike’s believes that making a sub sandwich and making a difference can be one and the same. During the pandemic alone, franchise owners across the country have donated millions of sub sandwiches to healthcare workers, seniors, children and others. The company also donated more than $5 million to Feeding America, $1 million to Aaron Judge’s ALL RISE Foundation and $1 million to support the USTA Foundation’s mission to bring tennis and education together to change lives.
