Buddy’s Home Furnishings Recaps Third Quarter Franchise Growth
November 05, 2021 // Franchising.com // ORLANDO, Fla. - Buddy’s Home Furnishings, a retailer specializing in the sales and rental ownership of furniture, electronics, appliances and home accessories, is pleased to report 8.8 percent growth in franchise store count during its third fiscal quarter ending on September 25. During the quarter, Buddy’s awarded 25 franchise locations and opened 11 new franchise stores, bringing its nationwide footprint to 309 stores.
All of the 25 units were awarded to multi-unit operators, eight of which will convert from corporate-owned to franchised stores. The retailer projects additional franchises to open before the end of the year and has several franchise agreements in the pipeline.
“Our steady third quarter growth is a testament to the viability of franchising with Buddy’s,” said Michael Bennett, CEO of Buddy’s. “Prospects are recognizing and responding to the benefits of our cash-flow business in a recession-resistant industry and jumping on the opportunity to claim their preferred territory.”
Buddy’s adopted the franchise model in 2009 and was acquired by Franchise Group, Inc. in 2020. This year, the company celebrates 60 years in business and has more than 300 operating stores, 88 percent of which are franchised locations.
