Entrepreneur Expands Mayweather Boxing + Fitness Footprint in Los Angeles Area
March 24, 2022 // Franchising.com // Culver City, CA - Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, a fitness experience that combines immersive training with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather’s champion techniques, is proud to announce the opening of its newest location in Culver City. Located in the courtyard of Ivy Station, the new studio is in the lobby of the new Warner Media/HBO west coast headquarters at 8900 Venice Blvd. The business is being opened by local entrepreneur, David IIan Weis who plans to build six locations on the westside of Los Angeles over the next several years.
Culver City is Weis’s first location in the Los Angeles area, where the brand already has a handful of locations. Weis, who will open Redondo Beach and Brentwood next, has been an entrepreneur in the health and fitness space for over three decades. He grew a chain of health clubs in Boston before deciding the weather in Los Angeles was beckoning. Weis zeroed in on Mayweather Boxing + Fitness because he was looking to build a business where members could learn from the most dominant boxer of all time.
“I want to change people’s lives for the better,” said Weis. “Of all the group exercises you can do, boxing is the best. We want our members - of all fitness levels - to have a place they can get in great shape, relieve stress and learn a valuable skill.”
Mayweather Boxing + Fitness utilizes methods developed throughout Floyd Mayweather’s 21-year undefeated boxing career. Floyd developed and designed the innovative fitness experience with the perfect combination of boxing, strength, and cardio conditioning intervals accessible by any fitness audience. Members participate in 45- and 60-minute-long classes that use state-of-the-art smart screen technology to project Floyd’s image throughout the duration of the class, making members feel like they are learning from and training alongside the undefeated boxer himself.
“I'm thrilled to celebrate our newest studio opening in Culver City,” said boxing champion and franchise founder Floyd Mayweather. “With his extensive background in the health and fitness space, we know David will be the perfect partner in expanding our presence in Los Angeles.”
