American Freight Awards 10 Locations In Second Quarter To Franchise Owners Across The Nation

August 12, 2022 // Franchising.com // American Freight Furniture, Mattress and Appliance, a leading national retailer offering in-store and online access to furniture, mattresses and appliances at discount prices, ended the second quarter with 10 new franchises awarded. The forthcoming locations will be spread across Georgia, Missouri and Texas and will add to the company’s growing footprint of more than 360 stores.

Greg Canzano was one of the first franchise owners to sign with the company when the program launched in 2021. In April, he was awarded an additional unit in Georgia, bringing his total commitment to five stores.

“American Freight made it easy for me to commit to another store,” said Canzano. “The company’s proven business model that comes with more than 25 years in business is a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Rather than just relying on its legacy, the company continues to innovate new revenue drivers and strategize marketplace share that will positively impact the future of the company - that’s why I chose to be an early adopter of the franchise program.”

John Jenkins and his wife Llaura currently operate an American Freight franchise in Longview, Texas. With more than 15 years of experience in franchising, the couple was awarded an additional franchise in Tyler, Texas earlier this year and has one location in development in Louisiana.

Troy Caron, DO, MBA, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and was awarded three locations in Missouri.

“I’m at the point in my career where I want to set myself up well for the future,” said Caron. “I came across American Freight’s franchise opportunity and saw value in the strong unit economics and scalability that will afford me the chance to grow with the company beyond these three stores. I also trust their experienced leadership team to support me as I establish and grow my stores.”

Business partners and new franchise owners Asad Mazahir and Muhammad Iftikar were awarded a five-unit deal in Atlanta, Georgia which will diversify their current portfolio of 42 IHOP® franchises.

Since launching the franchising model in 2021, American Freight has awarded 34 franchises to nine different multi-unit franchise owners across the country.

“It’s been a strong first half of the year for American Freight and our franchise partners,” said Will Powell, CEO of American Freight. “New and existing franchisees are taking advantage of our easy-to-build, quick-to-open and highly scalable franchise model, and they are eager to claim their territory before it’s gone.”
