Pinch A Penny Store Reopens Under New Ownership in Wellington, FL

Local couple revamp swimming pool retail and services store

September 14, 2022 // Franchising.com // Wellington, FL - Pinch A Penny announced new ownership for its store in Wellington, Florida, just outside of West Palm Beach.

Josie Flete and Genaro Melendez, a married couple from the Wellington area, reopened Pinch A Penny Pool Patio Spa on August 8 at 11924 Forest Hill Blvd., Wellington, Florida, 33414. The store is open seven days a week with operating hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Wellington store is the 13th location in the West Palm Beach area and the 233rd in Florida.

Genaro spent 17 years as a branch manager in the banking industry before deciding to become a Pinch A Penny franchisee. His wife, Josie, is an entrepreneur who opened her own childcare center. She also gained valuable management skills while working as an administrator for a dental company. The couple always dreamed of opening a business together, so they started researching franchise opportunities. Josie and Genaro were immediately attracted to the brand after hearing about its commitment to serving nonprofits like the Warrior Foundation and Special Olympics. The couple has revamped the Wellington store by adding additional lighting, extra decorations, and in-demand merchandise. As residents of the area, Josie and Genaro understand the need for top-tier pool renovations, services, and products in the community.

“The Pinch a Penny franchise is the perfect fit for us because it shares our family values, strong work ethic, and desire to contribute to service organizations,” said Josie Flete. “We can’t wait to transform pools throughout the city while also creating a memorable experience for our customers.”

In addition to pool supply retail, Pinch A Penny offers ongoing maintenance and repair services, like water testing and pool service, as well as pool renovations, leak detection, pressure washing, landscape lighting, and more.

“Josie and Genaro’s management experience combined with their desire to represent the brand at charity events is truly remarkable,” said Troy Lindbeck, Vice President of Operations for Pinch A Penny. “I look forward to seeing their business thrive in the Wellington community.”
