Honey Baked Ham Inks Four Unit Deal with Founder’s Great-Grandson

October 20, 2023 // Franchising.com // ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The Honey Baked Ham Company recently announced a multi-unit signed agreement with Tom McGwire, a great-grandson of the brand’s founder, Harry Hoenselaar.

Tom, who is the managing partner of the operating group Red House Connecticut LLC, is joined by his father, Tad, and two brothers, Charlie and Brett, in this new venture. The group’s signed agreement included the purchase of two existing locations in Newington and Milford, CT, and an agreement to develop two new stores in Providence, RI, and Springfield, MA. The McGwire family will also be supported by Tom’s partner and fiancé, Carrolline, at the four stores.

“The HoneyBaked brand has been a part of my family for decades and I am thrilled to finally have the chance to contribute towards its success.” said Tom McGwire. “Having spent time with the management team and having the chance to visit some stores, I was impressed with the strategic direction that the brand was heading and knew now was the time to join in. I’m excited to grow the HoneyBaked footprint in Massachusetts and open the first location in Providence.”

Aside from Tom’s personal connection to the brand, he brings a multitude of professional experiences into his operations with HoneyBaked. As the Owner and CEO of a manufacturing and fabricating company based out of Cheshire, CT, Tom brings a number of team-oriented skills, attitudes, and customer service experience into his new venture with the brand.

In addition to the legendary ham, Honey Baked Ham takes pride in presenting ready-to-serve turkey breasts, as well as sides, deserts and an array of complete meals that have become a symbol of shared celebrations and cherished family moments.
