The Big Biscuit Announces Pajama Collection for Q104’s Pajama Jam Benefiting Operation Breakthrough Dec. 1-18, 2023

November 15, 2023 // Franchising.com // PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS - The Big Biscuit® is preparing for the festive season not only by adding limited-time-only signature dishes like holidays-on-a-plate gingerbread pancakes to its menu (Nov. 24-Dec. 31, 2023) but also with meaningful community collaborations. For the second year, The Big Biscuit is a major sponsor of Q104 New Hit Country’s Pajama Jam and will collect new pajamas at each Kansas City-area restaurant for distribution to the kids of Operation Breakthrough.

“Last year, The Big Biscuit partnered with Q104 and Jenny Mathews Morning Drive for the station’s 5th annual Pajama Jam, and it was a huge success,” said President Chad Offerdahl. “Through the generosity of their listeners, our team, and our guests, we donated more than 2,000 sets of new PJs for the kids of Operation Breakthrough. This year, we aim to gather at least 3,000 sets of new pajamas.

“Pride in our community is a core value for The Big Biscuit, and we serve breakfast to thousands of families in Kansas City. Pajama Jam is a meaningful way for The Big Biscuit, as a locally owned company, to support Operation Breakthrough, a local organization helping Kansas City families and children. We look forward to celebrating the holidays, giving back, and inspiring others to get involved in this meaningful initiative. As Jenny says, ‘Something as simple as a new set of PJs can make the holiday happier and brighter for Kansas City kids and families.’”

Operation Breakthrough is a nonprofit that has helped Kansas City families since 1971 by providing a safe, loving, and educational environment for children in need and empowering their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education. The Big Biscuit will accept new, never-been-worn pajamas size newborn - 12 from Dec. 1-18, 2023, at all 14 Kansas City-area locations, plus St. Joseph, Lawrence, and Topeka.

"My favorite part about being on Q104 is the platform we have to help those in need in our community,” said Q104 personality and Pajama Jam creator Matthews. “Years ago, I visited Operation Breakthrough and read books to the kids - precious children in desperate need of many things. Toys are great. But I wanted to devise a way to give them something comforting, functional, and brand new. Jammies!"

The Big Biscuit has top-quality comfort food, freshly prepared with a twist, and served in generous portions with genuine hometown hospitality. Launched in 2000, the restaurant’s enthusiastic team members deliver consistent, high-quality service in a welcoming, family-friendly, and inclusive atmosphere.

The Big Biscuit is open daily from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., closing only on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Private rooms are available for meetings and gatherings at no charge at select locations Monday-Friday.
