Wienerschnitzel Strikes in the Pacific Northwest

New Opening in Spokane, a Multi-Unit Deal in Oregon, and Boise on-tap

March 14, 2024 // Franchising.com // SPOKANE - Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog franchise, has officially kicked off a major path of growth in the Pacific Northwest with a new restaurant opening in Spokane on February 23rd. The opening was followed by the signing of a new multi-unit development deal in Southern Oregon, coupled with an upcoming store opening scheduled in Boise, Idaho later this month.

The Spokane location marked the third restaurant to open in Washington and was met with an overwhelming community response. Wienerschnitzel’s Southern California roots have made Pacific Northwest transplants eager for a taste of home, with many citing the new location as a first-hand indulgence of the food they grew up with.

“I couldn’t be more thankful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the Spokane community,” said Brian Harshbarger, owner of the newest location. “Seeing a line of cars wrapped around the block just for the chance to stop by and try our world-famous chili dogs was everything we’d hoped for, and we’re excited to become not only a new go-to spot for those who have never tried us, but also a taste of home for Californians that have moved up here.”

Wienerschnitzel’s impressive opening weekend was followed by the signing of a new multi-unit agreement, this time detailing three units for Southern Oregon. Spearheaded by Raven Canyon Doghouse Delights, LLC, the first location will open in Klamath Falls with real estate and new construction already approved. The other locations will target openings in Medford and Grants Pass, or Roseburg.

“Expanding into Oregon has been a major objective for Wienerschnitzel and we’re excited to announce that the first location is officially underway,” said Ted Milburn, US Director of Franchise Development. “Our goal for this string of openings is to further ignite our growth in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, we know that markets like Eugene-Springfield and Salem stand to benefit from a multi-unit deal as well – new jobs, increased economic development and of course, making available our cult-like chili dogs in this beautiful corner of the universe.”

As the nation’s leading hot dog concept, Wienerschnitzel has forged an impressive path of new growth in 2024. The brand is set to open its next location in Boise at the end of March, which will mark the first of three total stores opening across Idaho in the coming months. Additionally, new units are scheduled in Arkansas, California, Colorado, and Texas, all of which comes on the heels of Wienerschnitzel’s international growth at the tail end of 2023.

There are 340 franchised Wienerschnitzel locations in operation throughout 11 states, and more than 40 units in various stages of development in the United States and further expansion underway internationally. Wienerschnitzel is looking for experienced multi-unit restaurant operators and successful entrepreneurs to be a part of its franchise family.
