The Tomey Group, Michigan's largest Jimmy John's franchisee group to open downtown Detroit location with Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

March 10, 2026 // Franchising.com // DETROIT – Jimmy John’s® will open its doors in Corktown in Downtown Detroit on Wednesday, March 11 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and grand opening celebration to include some FREE incentives for the first 25 guests.  This new location will mark Michigan owned and operated, The Tomey Group’s 48th Jimmy John’s location open in the state of Michigan, for the family-owned business.

The Corktown Jimmy John’s offers guests multiple dining options, including delivery, pickup, dine-in, and catering. The new Corktown Jimmy John’s will be open Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and brings several employment opportunities to the local economy.

On Wednesday, March 11, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. to include the ownership team, city officials, and members of the community, followed by the official grand opening celebration.  Following the ribbon cutting, the first 25 guests through the door will receive FREE chips and a FREE drink with any Jimmy John's sandwich purchase.

The Tomey Group, a family owned, and operated company headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, opened their first Jimmy John’s in Novi, Michigan over 20 years ago.  Since then, they have opened 56 locations across Southeast Michigan making them the largest Jimmy John’s franchise owner in Michigan, and the third largest in the country.  The Tomey Group also operates several real estate properties throughout Michigan, and its partners co-own well-known brands that further showcase Michigan, including the award-winning 8 Mile Vodka, Born IN DetroitTM apparel and Detroit AMPS, as well as Gameabove Sports, Bravo Payment Systems and Phoenix Franchise Brands.
