Hounds Town USA Expands Pawprint with Latest Opening in Anderson Mill, Texas
April 07, 2026 // Franchising.com // ANDERSON MILL, TEXAS.— Hounds Town USA is landing its paws in Anderson Mill, Texas. Hounds Town Anderson Mill is slated to open on March 14, and will offer an inclusive, non-breed discriminatory pet care facility allowing dogs to be dogs.
Jim Thompson will own and operate the Hounds Town location, bringing more than 34 years of retail leadership experience. His background includes executive roles at Golfsmith International and Performance Bicycle, as well as serving as Vice President of North America Consumer and Small Business Direct at Dell and Chief Revenue Officer of Chewy. His son, Jake Thompson, will serve as General Manager, with Jim and his wife, Heidi, involved during the opening months. Their son, Elliott, and Heidi’s sister, Kari, will also support operations, alongside a locally hired team.
In addition to offering interactive daycare, overnight boarding, and spa services, Hounds Town Anderson Mill will feature the brand’s signature “Hounds Town Seal of Approval” program, which provides local shelter dogs access to free daycare and socialization to improve their adoptability. The family is involved in community activities and plans to partner with local rescue groups and shelters to host adoption events and provide ongoing support for dogs in need.
“When we look ahead ten years, our goal is simple but ambitious: every dog in America should have access to a safe, enriching place like Hounds Town,” said Rob Flanagan, CEO of Hounds Town USA. “That vision only becomes possible when we partner with owners who truly understand pets and the people who love them. Jim’s decades of leadership, including his firsthand experience in the pet industry, give him a deep appreciation for what pet parents need and what dogs deserve. His family’s hands-on approach and commitment to doing things the right way embody the heart of our brand, and we’re proud to grow alongside them in Anderson Mill.”
With no breed or size restrictions, a natural pack play model, and care designed around how dogs actually think and behave, the program operates in a way consistent with the brand's approach to dog care.
