Happy Joe’s Brings the Party to Mendota Heights

August 20, 2026 // Franchising.com // MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn.— Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream is opening in Mendota Heights on Monday, Aug. 31, bringing its portfolio of made-to-order pizza, hand-scooped ice cream, arcade games, and full-tilt celebration to the community for the first time.

Located at 750 Main St., Suite 100, the Mendota Heights restaurant becomes a top location in Minnesota, joining Crookston and New Ulm. Since 1972, Happy Joe’s has served families with its pizza and ice cream offerings and hopes to attract new guests.

Two regional favorites come together at the Mendota Heights restaurant, where Bridgeman’s Ice Cream, a Minnesota-made brand based in Woodbury, is part of the offerings alongside the full Happy Joe’s menu. The restaurant also offers underground parking for winter visits and an outdoor patio for warm-weather dining.

“Minnesota families have known this brand for a long time, and Mendota Heights is a great, family-centric community to keep that momentum going,” said Tom Sacco, CEO, President and Chief Happiness Officer of Happy Joe’s. “There’s nothing else like a Happy Joe’s. For franchisee Brian Smith, the opening is a full-circle moment. He grew up eating at Happy Joe’s, and now he’s able to introduce the brand to the next generation.

For guests looking to be part of the celebration, a Lollapalooza pizza-cutting, Happy Joe’s GIANT pizza, will take place at 3:30 p.m. on opening day. Happy Joe’s in Mendota Heights will offer dine-in, carryout, and delivery, with hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can also book the party room for birthday parties, team celebrations, and group gatherings.
