The Big Biscuit Pairs Strong Sales Growth With a Community-Driven Approach to Expansion
October 22, 2026 // Franchising.com // PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — The Big Biscuit® is growing in 2026 with a belief that a successful restaurant should be more than a place to eat or work. It should be a place where people feel welcome, connected, and part of something bigger.
Through October 4, the Kansas City-founded breakfast-and-lunch concept reported 15.06% year-to-date total sales growth and 5.96% same-store sales growth compared with 2025. The brand also opened four new restaurants across its corporate and franchise locations.
As The Big Biscuit expands, it remains focused on making a meaningful impact in the communities it serves. Through local partnerships and ongoing initiatives, the brand brings Guests, Team Members, and franchisees together to support public education, address food insecurity, and build stronger community connections.
“Growth gives us the opportunity to do more. Purpose helps us decide where to focus,” said Marita Swift, VP of Strategic Growth at The Big Biscuit. “Guests want to feel welcome and known, and Team Members want to feel that their work matters. Building those relationships deserves as much attention as opening our next restaurant.”
That philosophy extends beyond the dining room, with restaurant teams helping turn the brand’s commitment into action in their own neighborhoods.
“Our teams love getting involved because these are their communities, too. They’re supporting local schools, helping neighbors, and working alongside Guests toward something that matters to all of them,” said Scott Jayne, VP of Operations at The Big Biscuit. “You can see the pride they take in that. It gives them another reason to feel connected to each other and to the work they do.”
Public education remains one of the ways The Big Biscuit puts that commitment into practice. Its third annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive collected nearly 3,000 new school supplies for 27 school districts across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas—a 150% increase from the previous year. The initiative connects local restaurants with schools to help students and educators begin the school year with essential supplies.
The brand’s support for educators continues beyond the start of the school year. Through its annual Teacher Appreciation Week initiative, The Big Biscuit gives communities the chance to recognize the educators who make a difference every day. Guests submitted nearly 2,800 nominations recognizing teachers for their hard work and dedication. The company awarded teachers $4,000 in gift cards and shared their stories to celebrate the lasting impact they make in their schools and communities.
The Big Biscuit’s community involvement also helps address food insecurity. For the fourth consecutive year, Team Members have volunteered with Harvesters Community Food Network. During the company’s most recent visit, Team Members packed 360 cases of food, totaling 10,152 pounds, to support low-income seniors experiencing food insecurity. The brand also held its fourth annual corporate blood drive in 2026, collecting 34 units of blood with the potential to help save up to 96 lives.
This holiday season, The Big Biscuit will host its fifth annual Pajama Jam. Originally launched in Kansas City in partnership with Q104, the initiative has expanded across the brand’s markets. Guests, Team Members, and organizations will come together to collect new pajamas for children in need, benefiting seven local nonprofits.
By returning to these initiatives year after year, The Big Biscuit creates ongoing opportunities for Guests to get involved, support their neighbors, and see the difference they can make together.
“We believe brands have an opportunity to give people more reasons to care, participate and belong,” Swift said. “That’s what ‘Breakfast with a Purpose’ means to us, and it’s a conversation we hope more brands will join.”
