Live Green, Live Smart Builders was founded in 2007 as part of the Franchise Development Group and began offering franchises in 2008. The Live Green, Live Smart Builders franchise company is the product of the social business enterprise Live Green, Live Smart (www.livegreenlivesmart.org), founded in 2006 and dedicated to creating social value in a significant and sustainable manner. Live Green, Live Smart, led by founder Peter Lytle, created The Sustainable House™, the world's first and only residential home to receive the highest certification score, LEED Platinum, from the US Green Building Council. In addition, The Sustainable House™ is the first Minnesota GreenStar Gold level home.
