Franchise History

The vibrant brand that Miami Grill is today all started with a single restaurant in Key West, Florida: Mr. Submarine. Founded by a Greek immigrant, that establishment became Miami Subs in 1988 and is still open and operating today. All meals are made to order, featuring authentic ingredients: shaved steak from Philadelphia in their signature cheesesteaks and gyros made the traditional way as a nod to their Greek roots. They offer four types of their famous chicken wings: breaded, grilled, naked and boneless accompanied by a wide variety of signature sauces. They bake four different types of bread daily to provide the freshest-tasting sandwiches. Over the years, Miami Subs has enhanced their offerings, such as their two time award winning fresh Angus steak burgers. Far from a sub shop the Miami Grill menu offers more to everyone. They continue their evolution from Miami Subs to Miami Grill with the inclusion of equity partner Armando Christian Perez, better known as Pitbull. A Miami native, Pitbull grew up dining at Miami Subs restaurants. Just as Miami Subs has evolved over the years to an international level, so too has Pitbull risen as a worldwide music sensation. The brand's modern new design inspired by the style and energy of Miami this savvy businessman recognized Miami Grill's potential and joined the team. Miami Grill pays tribute to the brand's history by continuing to serve classic Miami Subs favorites along with healthier grilled choices of mahi and shrimp.
