Culver's® Invites 100 Milwaukee Children's Outing Association (COA) Kids to Brewers Game & Helfaer Field Cookout

COA Baseball Outing will Take In Front-Running Brewers and Mets

Prairie Du Sac, Wis. (July 24, 2007) – One hundred kids from Milwaukee's COA Youth & Family Centers (Children's Outing Association) will be singing a chorus of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" thanks to a donation by Culver's Frozen Custard restaurants providing an outing to Helfaer Field and complimentary tickets to the Aug. 2 Brewers game. COA youth ages 7 to 12 from the Goldin Center Day Camps, located at 909 E. North Ave. and 2320 W. Burleigh St., will be treated to a fun-filled day beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a food and drinks (also donated by Culver's) at Helfaer Field. The Miller Park sausages will be on hand to play kickball and baseball with the kids before the Brewers take on the New York Mets for an afternoon game starting at 1:05 p.m.

"Not only is Culver's known for their great food, but Culver's does a terrific job of giving back to our community," said COA Executive Director Thomas Schneider. This year, COA celebrates its 101st year serving families in the Milwaukee area through early education, after school and summer programs; adult education, family and parenting programs; and camping activities that allow inner-city youth to experience the great outdoors. "Thanks to the kindness of community minded businesses like Culver's, COA's participants are given tremendous opportunities to see the world beyond their back yards. This will be a great event for our kids—one that they will remember for a long time," says COA's Development Director Mara Duckens.

The outing will start at Miller Park's Helfaer Field, built on the location of the old County Stadium, and one of the nation's premier sites for kids to play baseball, softball and kickball. "COA Youth & Family Centers has helped thousands of local families reach their full potential," said Culver's co-founder, Lea Culver. "Young people learn and grow by taking them out of their day-to-day environment, through activities like attending their first baseball game. We're glad Culver's could lend a hand." Children participating in Goldin Summer Day Camps are 7-12 years old. Throughout the summer they participate in a variety of activities including: field trips, environmental education, arts, sports, book clubs and educational enrichment. COA Youth & Family Centers serves over 8,000 children and families through nationally accredited child care, family support services, youth development, adult education, and residential and day camps. Over 150 children will participate in COA's Goldin Summer Day Camps this season. More information on COA Youth and Family Centers can be found online at www.coayfc. org.
