Shane's Rib Shack Enters The Season With A Fall Schedule Of Ribs, Wings And Tenders In Time For America's Favorite Sport

Shane's Platters are in the Line-Up for Fall Tailgating this Season

September 07, 2007 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA – The weekly autumn ritual of college and high school football, including the fanfare of marching bands, cheerleaders and homecomings, brings to the forefront the phenomenon known as the ubiquitous tailgating affair. And the popularity of barbecue and football is a winning combination that has been a part of Shane's since it was founded in 2002 and continues as it grows into America's top ranked fast-casual barbecue restaurant.

This season, Shane's is launching its own offensive strategy, which includes serving all- American BBQ to football enthusiasts from September through to one of the most watched and celebrated days in sports, the Super Bowl, which takes place this year on February 3, 2008.

"It's not enough that football and BBQ go so well together. We want to be a part of the experience, the celebration whether that's in your living room, your tailgate or in our stores watching Saturday college football or Sunday pro ball," explains Chris Morocco, a past Clemson Quarterback and executive with Shane's Rib Shack. "We believe Shane's BBQ offers the ultimate tailgate experience and so it's natural that we support America's favorite sport, not just in the food we serve but at the high school level as we engage in programs that recognize future stars."

Staging the Perfect Tailgate
Shane's is making it easy this football season by providing three different party platters in small (satisfies 5-6) and large (satisfies 10-12) – Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Wings and Chicken Tenders – all accompanied with an ample supply of Shane's sauce. Going along with Shane's

barbecue is a list of tips for hosting the best tailgate according to tailgate commissioner, Joe Cahn. They include: 1. Dressing in team colors. 2. Planning your menu. 3. Making a list of needed items. 4. Flying a spirited locator flag. 5. Decorating your tailgate site. 6. Meet your tailgate neighbors. 7. Have food ready to eat one and a half hours before kick-off.

At the college level, pre-season competitive debate and banter heats up right after a first look at the pre-season rankings, but also carrying significant pride is gaining top bill for the country's best tailgates. According to ultimate tailgater Stephen Linn, author of the "Fox Sports Tailgating Handbook," the top five destinations for tailgating are 1. Ole Miss. 2. Tennessee. 3. LSU. 4. Penn State. 5. Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville.

Of course, this football season, Shane's plans on making barbecue a part of high school, college and professional football weekends throughout the season – at home, at the stadium or at Shane's – regardless of rank, school size or division. ###
