Sweet Peppers Deli Expands Presence in Mississippi and Tennessee

COLUMBUS, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The award winning Sweet Peppers Deli has announced an expanded presence in Mississippi and Tennessee. Recently four counties were purchased by Andrew Mattiace and Mike Beacham of the Mattiace Restaurant Company of Jackson, Mississippi. Dyers County, Tennessee will be the first location for Mattiace and Beacham with a set opening date of December 10, 2007. This location is in Dyersburg, Tennessee in the Dyersburg Mall. The restaurant totaling 3500 square feet and seating approximately 120 will be located at one of the mall's main entrances.

Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties in Mississippi will also be developed by Mattiace Restaurants. Their 2nd Sweet Peppers Deli will be located in Ridgeland, Mississippi in the Mattiace lifestyle mall development, Renaissance at Colony Park. The set opening date for this location is February 2008. Sixteen counties have now been purchased or developed with the Sweet Peppers Deli concept. "We currently have approximately 10 more counties we should be adding to this list very soon. Those developments will be going into South Carolina, South Mississippi, South Alabama and North Florida," stated John Bean, of Sweet Peppers Franchise Systems.

The Sweet Peppers Deli concept began in 1997 when North Mississippi Restaurateurs, John, Bernard and Myrrl Bean, along with Robert Fort of Columbus, Mississippi joined forces with Robin Fant, creator of Bulldog Deli, in Starkville, Mississippi. Bulldog Deli served as a prototype for the first Peppers Deli. Currently there are 9 Sweet Peppers Delis in Mississippi and Alabama.

Peppers Deli features a menu of salads, soups, signature sandwiches, panini (Italian pressed sandwiches) and wraps presented in a unique atmosphere including neon signs, bright colors, Wi-Fi, patio dining and an open and airy layout. Sweet Peppers Deli offers a combination of counter and table service. Customers will enter the restaurant and place their order at the front counter, then receive full service from the wait staff once they are seated.
