Lenny's Sub Shop Launches Gift Card Program

Memphis-Based Franchise Launches System-Wide in-Store and Online Gift Card Purchase Program

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lenny's Sub Shops joined the $70 billion dollar gift card industry, launching the Lenny's Gift Card Program November 13. The program was designed to launch in time to capitalize on the 2007 holiday shopping season. The Lenny's Gift Card Program invites guests to purchase gift cards in any amount, from $5 to $500. Gift cards may be used on all purchases in-store, including catering orders and the Lenny's signature Hot Pepper Relish. The program allows guests to order new gift cards, as well as register, check balances and re-load their gift cards online at lennys.com.

"Gift Cards are ranked as the No. 1 gift for holidays and it was important for Lenny's to embrace the gift card concept," said George Alvord, CEO of Lenny's Sub Shop. "With the 150 Lenny's Sub Shops nationally, and another 65 planned through 2008, it is very important that we offer our guests the convenience that a gift card program provides. Now our loyal guests can share the Lenny's magic and our fresh-sliced subs with friends and family, all with the swipe of a card."

"Lenny's gift cards, whether purchased at any of our 150 locations, or on lennys.com, are all about convenience for our guests," said Alvord. "Whether you're buying for a co-worker or a family member, everybody loves Lenny's, and everybody loves Lenny's gift cards."

Beginning November 13, Lenny's Gift Cards will be available at Lenny's Sub Shop locations across the country. Visit www.lennys.com for a list of all Lenny's locations.

Len and Sheila Moore opened the original Lenny's Sub Shop, a genuine Philadelphia-style sub shop with fresh baked bread and the finest quality deli meat and cheese, in a Memphis suburb in 1998. Lenny's Franchisor Chief Executive Officer George Alvord and private investors acquired ownership of the company from Len Moore in 2004. Lenny's has sold franchises in 20 states from California to Virginia.

Recently, Lenny's has opened several restaurants in new markets, including Roseville, CA, Albuquerque, NM and Avon, IN. In addition, they have sold multi-restaurant packages and will be opening soon in several states, including Louisiana, Ohio and Virginia. Lenny's is scheduled to open hundreds of restaurants in the next few years.
