Cousins Subs Asks Local Kids To Get Out Crayons For Chance To Win North Pole Adventure

Menomonee Falls, WI - November 1, 2007 – Cousins Subs is embarking on a campaign that makes Wisconsin one of the most magical places to be this holiday season. Cousins Subs North Pole Express not only raises money and awareness for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, it gives dozens of local kids the opportunity to win the adventure of a lifetime - a trip to the North Pole.

Kids partake in this four-week campaign by writing a letter to Santa and turning it in at participating Cousins Subs locations in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay, or online at www.cousinssubs.com/npexpress. The campaign is intended for kids between the ages of 2 and 8. Entries will be accepted until Friday, Nov. 30. Of all the letters collected, Cousins Subs will randomly choose forty and those kids plus one guardian will win a seat on a special Amtrak-powered train that departs Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 15. The train takes kids on a short journey to the beautiful Milwaukee Airport Amtrak station, which is transformed with the help of hundreds of volunteers, world-class decorations and real reindeer. The space is also being outfitted with a giant toy shop that will be filled with games, crafts and entertainment for kids. In just a couple short hours, kids will travel to the North Pole and back but will have memories to last a lifetime.

"Cousins Subs North Pole Express brings together everything that is special about the holidays," says Cousins Subs Vice President of Marketing Larry Weissman. "And being able to support Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, an organization that makes miracles happen for kids year round, makes it that much more special."

Every detail of the trip will resonate with holiday magic: golden boarding tickets punched by a conductor; a special elf that whisks the train thousands of miles in minutes; jingle bells that bring Santa from his workshop during his busiest time of year; dozens of elves running about with armfuls of toys and games; reindeer getting their coats brushed and ready for flight; the sound of carols, and fresh baked holiday cookies are only some of the details that will make this experience memorable.

"Adults and kids alike will be giddy with holiday spirit," says Children's Hospital Special Events Manager Tanya Bissen.

Cousins Subs North Pole Express supports Children's Hospital of Wisconsin by donating $1 to the hospital for every letter collected (up to $2,000) and raising thousands of dollars more with proceeds from an in-store holiday cookie sale. Cousins Subs is also saving several seats on the train for kids from the hospital.

Cousins Subs introduced this extraordinary holiday campaign in Milwaukee for the first time in 2006 and it was met with overwhelming support. Thousands of kids turned in letters and many local organizations volunteered their services and time to make the experience extra special. This year, Cousins Subs expanded the campaign to Madison and Fox Valley, implemented a cookie sale to generate more money for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and will accommodate more winners.

Cousins Subs will accept entries through Friday, Nov. 30. Cousins Subs North Pole Express will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15 and was created for the enjoyment of kids; therefore, winners must be between the ages of 2 and 8. For more information, visit www.cousinssubs.com/npexpress.

About Cousins Subs
Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
