Curves goes International with Grassroots PR

Women's fitness franchise organization brings powerful PR program to international franchisees

WACO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the past three years, Curves, the international women's fitness franchise, has partnered with eNR Services, Inc., a Norwalk-based communications technology firm, to provide local news to the local media through eNR's Grassroots PR (GRPR) program. And as the grassroots revolution has taken hold of North America, Curves is now extending these PR tools to their international franchisees.

The GRPR program will give franchisees in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand the ability to build media lists and distribute press releases to their local media with online access to the PR application.

According to Becky Frusher, communications director for Curves International, Curves' desire to go international with the GRPR program came shortly after seeing tremendous results from their franchisees in North America. With the success, the natural next step was to go international, Frusher says.

"Our international franchisees tend to be very PR savvy, and in many countries, PR is more widely used than advertising. So we look for them to make full use of the program," Frusher said. "They are very excited about GRPR and its ease of use."

Frusher believes bringing the GRPR program to international Curves franchisees will translate into an increased number of positive media hits for the owners individually, as well as for the brand.

Curves International, a client of three years with eNR, is the first company to launch eNR's GRPR program outside of North America.

"Taking the GRPR program international with Curves is revolutionary – both for them and us," said Mick Ferraro, vice president of business development for eNR Services, Inc. "It proves the immense value of GRPR and leverages the international media outlets within our database; in addition, it offers international franchisees the necessary tools to establish a PR campaign in their local communities, while contributing to Curves' franchisee relations efforts."

According to Ferraro, the benefits of GRPR are universal. It offers franchisees assistance in building an effective public relations campaign that complements their local marketing plan.

"With the growth of franchising internationally, we're excited to grow with our clients," Ferraro said.
