The film is the sequel to one of Walt Disney Pictures' and Walden Media's greatest hits, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The second volume in a series of seven books by C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian details the Pevensie siblings' second trip to Narnia where they set out to once again save the magical land from the forces of evil and restore the rightful heir to the throne, Prince Caspian. Andrew Adamson returns to direct the film, which is an action-packed adventure exploring a new time and new characters in the land of Narnia, with a screenplay by Adamson & Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
