Thrifty Car Rental Named Top Car Rental Company by Entrepreneur Magazine

TULSA, Okla., April 28 // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG), received a 2008 Business Travel Award from Entrepreneur magazine for "Best Car Rental Value." This marks the sixth time in 15 years that Thrifty Car Rental has won this coveted award.

The 2008 Business Travel Awards highlight suppliers who offer the best in comfort, innovation and convenience to enhance the travel experience of value-driven travelers. "Was 2007 the biggest mess for business travelers since 2001?" asked the magazine, citing chart-topping flight delays, carry-on restrictions, packed planes and slow-moving lines at security checkpoints. As the leading magazine for the small and mid-size business community, Entrepreneur singled out those travel suppliers who are making life easier.

"Don't confuse Thrifty (http://www.thrifty.com) with second- or third-tier car rental companies," said Entrepreneur. "This isn't Rent A Wreck with pretensions." Thrifty was commended for its breadth of service in 68 countries, as well as the company's corporate account program, SmartBiz, which is open to companies of all sizes, even sole proprietorships. Once firms sign up, travelers are treated to up to 3,000 miles per month in the renting state and those bordering it (with possible restrictions), discounts on airport parking at Thrifty's 40 airport parking facilities and free membership in the Blue Chip Express Rental Program, whose major distinction is the industry's first satisfaction guarantee. If a Blue Chip rental experience is disappointing, the first day is free.

Thrifty Car Rental was also lauded for bells and whistles like GPS-enabled navigation units available at most locations in North America and prepaid Pass24 toll service, available in Dallas, Denver, Houston and the state of Florida. A daily fee of $8.95 ($5.95 in Florida) includes all toll charges, and users get unlimited use of toll express lanes.

"Savvy business travelers looking to save money have always known that Thrifty Car Rental is the go-to company for great value," said Gary Paxton, President and CEO of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. "We appreciate getting Entrepreneur magazine's official recommendation that Thrifty Car Rental be at the top of the consideration list for small- and mid-size companies."

The Business Travel Awards are not a ranking or formal survey, but are recognition by the magazine's editors of having noteworthy products and services that could make this a banner year for travelers.
