Bear Creek Coffee Wins Award!

May 07, 2008 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. U.S.A. - Indianapolis, Indiana based, Bear Creek Coffee placed 8th in the recent Roasters Guild 2008 Roasters Choice Tasting Competition May 7 2008, at the Specialty Coffee Association of America's (SCAA) 20th Annual Conference & Exhibition in Minneapolis, Minn.

David King, Master Roaster for Bear Creek Coffee, entered Bear Creek's newest Single Origin coffee, Papua New Guinea, a coffee taken just above a full city roast, provides a solid medium body that boasts its sweet acidity and highlights its fruitful undertones.

Celebrating the art of roasting specialty coffee, the competition featured exceptional coffees from some of the finest coffee roasters throughout the country. SCAA is the world's largest coffee trade association. All Roasters Guild members - about 370 - were invited to participate in the competition by submitting 30 pounds of coffee, which they roasted just prior to the event, ensuring freshness. To determine a winner, each conference attendee in Minneapolis got one chance to vote for the best of the 10 finalists. The tasting was blind. The chief aim of the event was to recognize the craft of roasting while conference delegates tasted some superb coffees. The theme of this year's Roasters Choice Tasting Competition is "Single Origin Coffees."
