Innovative Greeting Card Designs Launched by Card Connection

June 19, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Mums will always be key targets for card publishers and leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, is keeping these important customers happy with two new groups of innovative releases over the coming weeks: Licensed Character cards and Flashing Badge Format cards.

"Today's brand-conscious kids are strongly attracted to recognisable characters, so it's not surprising that licensed character cards often outsell non-licensed product by a rate of two to one," confirms creative director of Card Connection, Natalie Turner. "That's why Card Connection has invested in some major new licensed product to extend our character portfolio and further support our franchisees' strong sales in this sector."

For the girls, old favourites like, Bratz, Barbie and Disney Princess get updated designs and these are joined by newcomers Fifi and the Flowertots, Peppa Pig, Lil' Bratz and Hannah Montana. The Boys get new designs for long-time favourites Pooh, Spiderman, Thomas the Tank Engine, Power Rangers and Transformers; with new arrival in the shape of Roary the Racing Car, Ben 10 and Buzz Lightyear. These new designs are spread across age captions one-seven, plus some open juvenile birthday designs, including two in Card Connection's Tall card format.

"Flashing Badges have also been a major sales success for Card Connection's Gift Connection range so it made sense to put them on 12 new and innovative greeting cards," Turner continues. "This now gives our customers twice the reason to buy these new designs."

Colourful and generic juvenile designs for ages five-nine carry the corresponding flashing badges, while a following five male designs spread the age appeal of the range all the way up to adults. Competitively priced with an RRP of £3.99 they are almost a gift and card in one.

Card Connection has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business distributing quality greeting cards within their region. Although no direct industry expertise is required, successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50,000 per annum.
