Accor North America Opens First Studio 6 Corporate Acquisition In Over 7 Years

New Location in Greensboro, NC Joins Studio 6 Family of Properties

July 30, 2008 // Franchising.com // DALLAS, Texas – Accor North America, one of the nation's largest owner/operators of economy lodging, announces its first Studio 6 corporate acquisition in over seven years. The newest Studio 6 property is located in Greensboro,North Carolina. Formerly a Residence Inn, the property opened on July 24th under the ownership and management of Studio 6.

"This property is just the latest acquisition in our goal to reach 1,200 locations in North American by 2010," said Olivier Poirot, CEO for Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. The last Studio 6 corporate acquisition was in January 2001. Since resuming corporate development for both the Studio 6 and Motel 6 brands, Accor NA has increased its overall network by 51 properties. This includes four corporate acquisitions along with 47 franchises since the beginning of 2007.

Located at 2000 Veasley Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, the new Studio 6 is conveniently located along I-40, two miles from the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and 12 miles from Greensboro's Piedmont Triad International Airport.
