Elevation Burger Ceo Named Green Business Visionary Of The Year, Announces Eco-Friendly Initiatives All In One Day

Organic Burger Concept Hosts Go Green Press Conference

October 20, 2008 // Franchising.com // Arlington, VA, — Elevation Burger, the rapidly expanding Virginia-based organic burger concept, held a Press Conference on October 14, 2008 at National Harbor. Elevation Burger was hand-picked to be the exclusive burger concept at the spectacular, 300-acre mixed-use waterfront development. Hans Hess, CEO of Elevation Burger and enviroCAB LLC, announced his innovative and environmentally conscious plans for the expansion of his growing concept. The National Harbor store is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council in an effort to attain LEED Gold certification once construction is complete. This effort is being led by Elevation's design team, Cardinal Point, Inc., based in Charlottesville, VA.

Later the same night, Hess was announced the winner of the "Visionary" category in the first annual Greater Washington Green Business Awards hosted by the Washington Business Journal and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The Visionary category is designed for an individual who has made an outstanding and lasting impact on environmental awareness through his or her advocacy, conservation and preservation efforts. The brand new awards are meant to recognize individuals in the Greater Washington area that are making efforts to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their businesses and community work. Hess was a keynote speaker at the seminar prior to the awards reception, which was held at a LEED Certified Gold facility in Washington, D.C.

Elevation Burger and its franchisees are working together to promote the health of its guests and the planet. With 24 restaurant openings quickly approaching throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Texas, Elevation franchisees are voluntarily choosing sustainable building practices. Hess says a major goal is to, "Register all future Elevation Burger stores with the U.S. Green Building Council to pursue certification under USGBC's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program, while continuing to serve quality organic food that makes a difference to our guests and our environment."

Elevation Burger prides itself on "elevating" the guest experience, its products and its employees while offering a sophisticated and flavorful menu bursting with heart-friendly ingredients. Elevation Burger cooks their fresh french fries in olive oil, offers two kinds of veggie burgers and uses only 100 percent organic, grass fed, free range meat.

Elevation Burger has had an explosive amount of support from local patrons in the Washington, D.C. metro area since it first opened in 2005. The concept has received recognition in prestigious publications such as Washingtonian magazine and The Washington Post as "best shake" and "best burger" nominees.
