Port City Java Corporate Cafes Increase 2.2% for October 2008 over the Same Period in 2007; Opens New Unit in Mayoden, NC

Same Unit Sales:

Port City Java announces its same unit Corporate Café sales increased 2.2% for October 2008 over the same period in 2007. Overall corporate café sales increased by 11.5% for October 2008 over October 2007. The company is pleased with the financial results for October and the Breakfast with That (BWT) Program which contributed significantly to the sales gains. Management believes the Guests are finding a high value in their experience at Port City Java and this is leading to Guest recruitment and retention, which has a magnified influence in the current economic environment. Continued emphasis on the Core Basics, which include delivering high taste profile products with a superior level of hospitality and efficient speed, exceptionally clean units and execution of its LAMG (Local Area Marketing Guide) are producing the sales increase and Brand penetration. The company has been focusing on the day to day Core Basics for the past 24 months, and the same unit sales increase suggest the Guests are responding.

New Unit:

The company is pleased to announce the opening of a new Port City Java in Mayoden, NC. The new unit is located on 181 Commerce Lane. It is the first free standing double (2X) drive-thru unit for the company. The unit was constructed entirely off-site and the company hopes this method of construction can accelerate the opening timeline for future units. The company has plans to open two additional sites in the market, thus gaining Brand presence.
