This Pumpkin Spice Cake doughnut is part of Krispy Kreme's Fall Combo which includes the Chocolate Iced Signature Yeast with orange, brown and yellow sprinkles; Orange Iced Signature Yeast and the classic Original Glazed(R). This festive assortment provides the perfect welcome home treat for loved ones, whether they are coming from across the country for the holiday, or just coming home from school.

The Extreme Pumpkin Cheesecake was developed by Stephanie Matthews for the ultimate Krispy Kreme recipe contest in conjunction with Taste of the South magazine. The recipe is as follows:
4 Krispy Kreme Cinnamon 3 (8-ounce) packages cream
Twist Doughnuts cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, melted 1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons whipping cream
divided 1 teaspoon cornstarch
3/4 cup canned pumpkin 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs yolks 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 2 Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice Cake
1/2 teaspoon ground mace Doughnuts, crumpled into
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger pea-size pieces
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. In a work bowl or food processor, crumble or process cinnamon twists into crumbs. Combine crumbs with melted butter and press firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan; set aside. In a medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, pumpkin, 3 egg yolks, cinnamon, mace, ginger and salt. Mix well; set aside. In another bowl, beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar; beat until smooth. Add whole egg, remaining egg yolk, and whipping cream, mix until well combined. Then mix in cornstarch, vanilla and lemon extract until smooth. Add pumpkin mixture and combine well. Pour batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle Pumpkin Spice Cake doughnut pieces over batter. Bake for 50 minutes. Let cheesecake cool on a wire rack for 2 hours, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
