Uno Chicago Grill(R) Launches Uno Due Go(TM) Extends Brand to Fast Casual Category

Boston, MA // PRNewswire // — Uno Chicago Grill®, inventor of the iconic deep-dish pizza, has entered the fast casual arena with the launch of Uno Dué Go™, debuting with two franchise units at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

"Today's challenging economy compels us to extend our brand's reach into a variety of venues that meet the evolving needs of our guests," said Jamie Strobino, senior vice president, Uno Restaurant Holdings Corp. "Uno Dué Go gives our fans another opportunity to enjoy a delicious, healthy menu while on the go."

Setting itself apart from others in the segment, the goal of Uno Dué Go aims to take care of the spirit as well as the body, by offering delicious foods that are strong on flavor, focused on ingredients that bespeak an artisan approach to cooking, and are healthier than most casual-dining or quick-serve alternatives.

Guests can enjoy Uno's® signature deep-dish or hand-tossed all-natural flatbread pizzas, plus an abundant variety of delicious options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a warm, stress-free atmosphere that offers an unprecedented level of hospitality in the fast-casual space.

The menu caters to food lovers and features freshly-made sandwiches served on an artisan Ciabatta roll or sliced sourdough, grilled panini, less-than-550-calorie wraps, fresh salads, appetizers, and much more. Guests can also enjoy a gourmet coffee station featuring Tarrazu® Estate Blend shade-grown coffee and Harney & Sons® organic teas, as well as a soup station with fresh soups of the day. All items are displayed in an abundant, retail market style, and can be enjoyed to go or in a comfortable seating area.

"Uno Dué Go is perfect for travelers who are pressed for time and who want a healthy, delicious meal that is fast, if necessary, or comfortably casual when there is time to linger," noted Mr. Strobino. "The concept is well suited to airports where travelers are now responsible for securing their own meals to enjoy on a flight."

The concept paves the way for further expansion of the Uno® brand in a variety of exciting new venues such as airports, college campuses, malls, hospitals, and urban centers. Units will range in size from 700 square feet to 3,000 square feet.

Dallas-based FGR Food Corporation is the franchise partner for the launch, and operates several Au Bon Pain Café's, as well as one independent restaurant in the DFW airport. Its two new Uno Dué Go locations are uniquely different in size, one at 700 square feet, which is located in Terminal C, and the other at 1,800 square feet, including a bar and seating area, located in Terminal E.

The launch of Uno Dué Go comes on the heels of another new brand concept called Uno Express, which focuses on pizza as its core reason for being. Uno Express is a turn-key retail brand featuring Uno pizza in kiosk spaces within retail centers, grocery stores, and as part of airport and food court locations.

"Our intention with these brands is to provide our guests the convenience of exceptional Uno food and beverage with unparalleled Uno hospitality in as many venues as possible. It will always be about the guest," said Mr. Strobino.

Based in Boston, Uno Restaurant Holdings Corporation includes more than 200 company-owned and franchised full-service units located in 29 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Honduras, and Saudi Arabia. The company also operates a consumer foods division, which supplies airlines, movie theaters, hotel restaurants and supermarkets with both frozen and refrigerated private-label foods and branded Uno products.
