Miami--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Burger King Corp. (NYSE:BKC) unveils BURGER KINGSM Studio today, a game-changing line of art on modern and edgy apparel and lifestyle gear. Part art gallery, part creative laboratory, the concept highlights the work of young, cutting-edge artists inspired by the BURGER KING® brand and creatively incorporates core elements of the BURGER KING® identity.
Burger King Corp. has plans to make BURGER KINGSM Studio designs available in select urban boutiques and retailers in the coming months, but consumers who can't wait can visit www.burgerkingstudio.com to create a custom t-shirt and read artists' biographies. As BURGER KINGSM Studio evolves, so will the site. In the coming months, visitors can expect to see expanded content, including artist blogs, interactive online events, desktop applications and more.
"BURGER KINGSM Studio is a progressive platform that inspires free-flowing creativity and provides a forum for imaginative collaboration between artists and consumers," said Cindy Syracuse, senior director, cultural marketing, Burger King Corp. "By offering our guests fresh designs – from vintage-looking apparel to graphically enhanced skateboard designs – Burger King Corp. continues to engage its audiences in new ways and build on its HAVE IT YOUR WAY® brand promise."
Beginning today, guests of the world's first WHOPPER™ Bar at Universal CityWalk® at Universal Orlando® Resort in Orlando, Fla. will be able to create a custom-made version of America's favorite burger, and be among the first to experience the latest BURGER KINGSM Studio concepts. Visitors will be invited to customize t-shirts using original designs via a highly engaging touch-screen kiosk. Guests will have the option of creating a personalized silk-screen design to be printed on site or can choose from ready-made offerings representing some of the most popular BURGER KINGSM Studio designs. T-shirts will be available for $21.95.
BURGER KINGSM Studio made its debut in Chicago in the fall of 2008 where guests at urban gallery events had the opportunity to mingle with the artists, view their work, and experience the excitement of customizing their own apparel. Consumers across the country can look forward to similar experiences as Burger King Corp. plans to host live studio events in various markets later this year.
The BURGER KING® system operates more than 11,700 restaurants in all 50 states and in 74 countries and U.S. territories worldwide. Approximately 90 percent of BURGER KING® restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees, many of them family-owned operations that have been in business for decades. In 2008, Fortune magazine ranked Burger King Corp. among America's 1,000 largest corporations and Ad Week named it one of the top three industry-changing advertisers within the last three decades.
