Roni Deutch Tax Center Launches Tax Books 2.0 Program at All 59 Locations; Streamlines Work for Owners, Franchisor

Franchisee Input Used to Improve Business Operations, Service

March 25, 2009 // // Sacramento, CA – Roni Deutch Tax Center, one of the nation's fastest growing tax preparation franchises, is also one of the fastest to adapt, launching an updated version of its Tax Books software to give franchisees and managers a more user-friendly internal software program.

Tax Books 2.0 offers a one-stop-shop dashboard for franchise owners, their employees and the corporate office. Tax Books 2.0 puts everything at the finger tips of Roni Deutch Tax Center employees, including tax, employee and client information, corporate announcements and training materials.

"We really built this system based on what the franchisees needed," said Erin Enders, RDTC Director of Training and CTEC Liaison. "We made the program more user-friendly to give franchisees an easier, more detailed way to keep up with clients, a more streamlined bookkeeping system, and put everything they need in one place."

Enders worked with a team to develop Tax Books 2.0 and relied heavily on feedback from franchise owners who used the old system to make sure the program fit everyone's needs as best possible. The team also developed a RDTC "Wiki" as well as a 100 question tax test for employees. Previously, all of the programs were separate, so franchisees needed to enter the same data into multiple different programs.

Las Vegas franchise owner Roni Kerfien said Tax Books 2.0 has made operating her location easier and connects her to the rest of the RDTC community. Kerfien said she can tell Tax Books 2.0 was developed with users like her in mind.

"Tax Books 2.0 has made my life a lot easier," Kerfien said. "Corporate posts announcements everyday. For new tax preparers, it's great – they learn something every day."
