Hurricane Grill & Wings Targets Expansion in Florida & Beyond With Family Dining Popularity

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., March 26 // PRNewswire // -- After acquiring the Hurricane Grill & Wings franchisor on December 17, 2008, Hurricane AMT, LLC is moving forward with aggressive expansion plans for the Florida-based, tropically themed restaurants.

Investor partners Gail Meyer Asarch, John C. Metz (Chairman and CEO), and Dean Tendrich (Chief Marketing Officer), and company president Ken Adams plan to grow the family-oriented chain from 30 locations in Florida to up to 40 units nationwide by year-end, expanding in Florida, New York and Ohio. Ten new locations are currently under development.

The specialty at "Hurricanes" is uniquely savory chicken wings, offered in five categories and with a choice of over 30 signature sauces. Everything is cooked fresh to order with high quality ingredients, no trans fats, and environmentally friendly packaging. Other menu options range from salads to Certified Angus Burgers, Grilled Mahi-Mahi along with a full lineup of micro-brew beer and wine. The tropically inspired atmosphere is friendly and festive, and there's an emphasis on value: a family of four can dine at Hurricanes for under $40.

Hurricane Grill & Wings was voted "Festival Favorite" at the 2007 National Buffalo Wing Festival, a distinction voted on by attendees of the national event where 74,000 people gathered to sample the nation's best wings.

"We truly believe we have a uniquely appealing family dining concept and we are committed to delivering quality, value and total guest satisfaction," said Metz. "Hurricane Grill & Wings offers great food and a great concept that people love. The restaurants are doing well."

"Even in a slumping economy, families need to get away from life's hustle and bustle," added Tendrich. "We offer great food at a great price in a fun, laid-back atmosphere - you feel like you've walked into your own mini-Caribbean vacation!"

Hurricane Grill & Wings are independently owned and operated. To drive Hurricane AMT's growth, Adams says they are looking for potential partner franchisees that are passionate about excelling in the food service business. A comprehensive training program, opening support and ongoing operational and marketing support are offered. Franchisees are encouraged to actively support their local communities and participate in fundraisers and other community events.

The original Hurricane Grill & Wings opened in Ft. Pierce, Fla., in 1995. The current Florida locations include 18 in Palm Beach, Martin & St. Lucie counties up through Vero Beach; four in Orlando; three in the Naples/Fort Myers area; four in Miami-Dade/Broward counties; and four in Jacksonville. Locations are inline strip or shopping centers.
