Miami--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Burger King Corp. (NYSE:BKC) kicks off summer with fun and entertainment during the company's first-ever BK FAMFESTSM national tour, visiting six U.S. cities. Headlined by Grammy-nominated R&B pop singer and actor Mario, and hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, each event will showcase unique, family-friendly activities.
"We know that family and friends are very important to our consumers and we designed our BK FAMFESTSM program to provide them with the opportunity to spend some fun, quality time together," said Risa Schultz, manager, multi-cultural promotions for Burger King Corp. "We invite everyone to join us for a fun-filled day with the people you consider family – whether it's your children, friends or neighbors – to relax and enjoy games, food and great entertainment."
Each BK FAMFESTSM event will be hosted by actor and comedian Kevin Hart and feature fun activities for the whole family, including arts & crafts, pick-up basketball games and unique relay challenges. The event's main stage will showcase Mario, best known for his hit singles "Just a Friend" and "Let Me Love You" and roles in movies such as Step Up and Freedom Writers. Local DJ's will keep the party going with non-stop music throughout the day.
Attendees can also satisfy their appetites with samples of tasty, bite-sized BK BURGER SHOTS® mini-burgers served hot and fresh at the BK® mobile kitchen, sponsored by Boost Mobile. Families are also invited to visit the Boost Mobile booth to create and download free customized ring tones.
The BK FAMFESTSM tour will also provide a unique platform for charitable giving in each U.S. city it visits. During the tour, consumers are encouraged to vote online at www.bkfamfest.com for the local cause that they believe is making a difference in improving their community (one vote per person per day). The winning charity in each city will be announced at BK FAMFESTSM and will receive a $2,500 donation from the HAVE IT YOUR WAY® Foundation, the charitable arm of Burger King Corporation.
